Hi, my name is Aaron. I’ve been teaching for over a decade, if tutoring a primary school student is counted as part of my teaching career.

I’ve never thought of being a teacher when I was asked the question “what will you want to do in the future” at school, but here I am and teaching has become an indispensable part of my life.

However, I’m not happy about the way I worked as an IELTS teacher in one of the largest language course providers in China. I was like a mobile recorder — teaching the same content to different groups of students in different places. On good days, I might do a bit of differentiated teaching — a teaching approach that modifies instructions and strategies to meet the individual needs of students at different levels of language proficiency. On bad days, I was like a machine — doing the same thing repeatedly, except that I would feel a sense of enervation caused by early rising and a long commute. This drove me crazy and I believe it is time for a drastic change.

I do love teaching and helping others progress, but what I am sick of is the run-of-the-mill job. The life of a teacher is pretty regular, monotonous and predictable, and I really want to get out of the rut by exploring more challenges and possibilities, such as starting my own business and being a content creator on a website. So, I quit not long ago and decided to change the course of life a bit and pursue my childhood dream of being an entrepreneur.

On this website, I plan to share some thoughts on a range of topics weekly, if possible. Maybe I’ll post some IELTS essays too. Let me know if you’re interested.
